Queen Victoria is on the throne.
Stephen Chambers was most Likely born in 1840 but it might of been as early as 1837, he was born in Kingston on Thames. He was the sixth child of six to George Chambers and Elizabeth. Stephen is brought up by his mother Elizabeth as his father dies in the March quarter in 1840.
On the 1841 Census the family was living in the Hamlet of Ham and Thoton
On the 1851 Census the family was living at 5 Wood Street Kingston on Thames.
Stephen Marries Sarah Church on the 9th February 1860 In Croydon Surrey.
On the 1861 Census Stephen and his wife was living at 76 Kings Street Croydon Surrey and working as a Rag dealer.
The first of the seven children was Stephen and he was born on the 11th May 1862 in Croydon.
The second child Mary Ann and she was born on the 8th February 1865 and was Baptised on 26th February 1865.
The Third child was Thomas and he was born in 1867 but im sure he dies in the June quarter of 1877 in Croydon
On The 1871 census the family was living at 47 Myesle Place Croydon, and Stephen was working as a Hawker ( a general dealer )
The Fourth child Henry was born in the June Quarter of 1871 in Croydon.
The Fifth child Richard was born in the September quarter of 1874 in Croydon.
The sixth child Lucy Elizabeth she was born in the March Quarter of 1878 in Croydon.
On the 1881 the family was living at 4 Union street Croydon.Stephen was working as a Pedlar ( a Pedlar was a General dealer ).
The seventh and last child was Alfred He was born in the June Quarter 1884 in Croydon. On the 1891 Census the family was living at 24 union Street Croydon, Stephen was working as a general dealer ( porperly in a shop ).
King Edward 7th toke the Throne on the 22nd January 1901 on the death of his mother Queen Victoria.
On the 1901 Census the family was living still living at 24 Union street Croydon,Stephen was working as a general dealer in a shop.
King George 5th toke the Throne on the 6th May 1910 on the death of his father King Edward 7th.
On the 1911 Census stephen, his wife Sarah and daughter Lucy Smith with her 2 children was living at 24 Union Street Croydon, Stephen was working as a hawker.
Stephen Dies in the September Quarter of 1913 in Croydon.
